Earlier this year Kiel and I moved our bedroom upstairs to be closer to Evan. We ended up in our guest bedroom which didn't have any real side tables at the time (a few logs were being used but those lacked storage and weren't well finished). We searched high and low for a pair of cool nightstands to buy either new or used and refinish. But we couldn't quite find anything that met our criteria in terms of shape, storage, and budget. So we crafted our own with some wood leftover in the basement from one of Kiel's Midwest Woods projects and used these super easy and cheap waddell legs from Home Depot. This was a pretty simple project that makes a nice, useful finished piece that can be customized in terms of size for your space (side table or night stand).
