home: before & after front porch makeover

As the weather has warmed up here in Columbus and we have transitioned from eating on the couch (we are slobs) to eating on the front porch, I finally realized how badly it our porch needed an update. The paint was chipping and layers of dust were piling up on the furniture. It was screaming for some attention.

We started a few weeks back by repainting the porch floor. I intended to paint it the same color as before and just use what we already had on the porch after cleaning things up a bit. However, the color Kiel picked up at Lowe's was just a bit more orange than terra cotta. After a few hours painting one late Saturday evening, I decided to just roll with the new color and let it inspire a whole new front porch!

Here is the before & after:

We spray painted the mailbox and painted the porch numbers (although we are hoping to soon get some new custom made letters once Kiel finds the time to make them for me at work).

This porch swing we painted years back. It required only a bit of cleaning and sprucing with some new (and old) pillows.
