Oliver is almost 1 and I just can't believe how fast time has flown by (as always). I recently made a few tweaks to his nursery- changed out some of the throw pillows, made him a new garland and found this adorable red O at the Scott Antique show in the spring.
DIY: repurposed scarf pillow and updates in Oliver's nursery
I loved this striped scarf that I found on Fab several years ago. I'm feeling a little out of the scarf phase and this has been sitting in my scrap fabric pile for a while. I decided to wrap it over an IKEA pillow insert and made this super easy envelope style pillow.
1. Measure out your pillow and your scarf. Wrap the scarf around the pillow in an envelope pattern as a test to make sure you have enough fabric.
2. Hem the edges of the fabric.
3. Once you have your envelope pattern, flip the pattern wrong side out, pin, and start sewing the sides. Trim excess threads.
4. Flip the pillow cover inside out and cover your pillow insert!
