Things are starting to slowly pick up around here now that spring is right around the corner and we have an almost 6 month old on our hands (where did all the time go?!). Oliver is getting much more self sufficient and we have been able to get a little time away in our respective studios. I've been sharing a few recent DIYs over on Homedit. I'm hoping to get a few of our room refreshes photographed and up here but in the meantime I wanted to share one of KIel's most recent projects- this beautiful ash table he made on commission for our neighbors. The ash came from trees that we cut down on Kiel's dad's property on the outskirts of Columbus. The trees were infected the the boar and died naturally. Kiel milled them into boards a year or two ago and has been recently using the boards for some new pieces. I've sometimes felt that ash was a little too light and modern for our home but I just loved how this table turned out. Kiel asked me to take a few photos for his portfolio of work and since it was a gray day and I had the kids, I had to stage it inside. It looks perfect with our new dark and moody walls. Guess he's going to have to work on making one for us to keep next! See more of his work over on Midwest Woods furniture. Full room reveal for this room coming soon!
