A few months back in July when Kiel and I were visiting Ohio's Amish Country we came across a neat little shop front called The Colonial Homestead. Inside was a store front and work space for Dan Raber- a talented man that creates and refinishes authentic period correct furniture all by hand. He also offers craftsman classes to teach others wood working with hand-tools. In addition to classes & furniture, Dan sells small home goods (like these wooden spoons) & quality collected hand-tools.
Kiel and I were in awe of the craftsmanship and detail. After an hour of serious furniture creation conversation, we shot a few photos to share. If you are looking for well crafted shaker style furniture in the Midwest, I suggest you take a trip to visit!
