weekly wrap up: week of september 8th

This week was a busy one! Lots of DIY projects completed (excited to share a few with you next week) and fall is officially here in Columbus. A crisp is in the air and the pumpkin spice candles are burning! Here is what we have been up to over the this past week...

1. Pallet Table DIY- see how to create your own cheap and easy hairpin leg coffee table over for one of our Homedit contributions this week

2. Geometric Metal Tubing Plant Hanger- get experience with a pipe cutter and learn how to make this brass geometric hanging planter this week for another one of our Homedit DIY contributions

3. Kelly Moore bag- Kiel and I recently invested in a new full frame DSLR (silly but we thought over it for months and it has now been a few weeks and I am still so giddy over it- it was like Christmas when I finally purchased it!). It is my baby (until baby m comes of course!). I have been so wrapped up in using it that I haven't had much time to get new accessories. Our old camera bag is small so I have been looking for new ones and have been swooning over this Kelly Moore bag. I still haven't yet pulled the trigger on it (still weighing other options), but if money were no option it would be the new home for my camera this week!

4. Gourds and Fall Foliage- inspired by this great fall photo from The Merrythought, I picked up my first ornamental kale this week. I love how pretty it is but have never really had much of an excuse to decorate with it. I had a DIY project this week that needed a plant so it was a great excuse to pick some up. I also go to stock up on some gourds from the local community market- they make the perfect props for fall and I got a head start on fall decorating!

5. Wool blankets- the weather has finally cooled enough here in Columbus to turn off the AC, open the windows, and eat some chili under a warm wool blanket. Which is pretty much what we did all weekend. I am slowly cultivating my collection of vintage wool blankets and can't wait to see more of them at the upcoming flea markets and shows this fall!
